Everyone is wondering who Ashlee Simpson's new boyfriend is and how they met. Singer Ashlee Simpson has recently been seen out and about with actor Vincent Piazza. This is the first public relationship for Simpson since her 2011 divorce from former Fall Out Boy front man, Pete Wentz, though rumors of a rebound romance with Wentz’s band mate, Craig Owens, abounded.
Many had speculated that Simpson and Wentz might reconcile after months of seeing them together both with, and without, their two-year-old son, Bronx. However, Ashlee Simpson has definitely left the past behind as she was spotted kissing her new boyfriend, Vincent, on a romantic stroll through the park on June 15th. Ashlee reportedly met Vincent Piazza when they were set up by a mutual acquaintance. The two seemed very relaxed and comfortable with each other as they walked with their arms around each other through New York, stopping periodically to kiss.
As recently as May 2011 Vincent Piazza had been romantically linked to Miss USA 2010 Rima Fakih, though rumors of a relationship were never confirmed by the parties. Prior to that, Vincent had been in a 4 ½ year relationship with actress Christina Brucato. Ashlee Simpson dated a long string of actors and musicians including Carson Daly, Ryan Cabrera and Wilmer Valderrama. In May 2008 Ashlee married Pete Wentz and gave birth to their son in November of that year. She filed for divorce from Wentz on February 8, 2011.
Ashlee Simpson's new boyfriend was born and raised in Queens, New York and is of German-Italian descent. He has appeared in a variety of TV shows and movies in recent years, though acting became a pursuit only after a shoulder injury sidelined his amateur hockey career at Villanova University. After dabbling with a career in finance, Vincent began studying with acting coach Alice Spivak and performing in Off-Broadway productions. He has had roles on well-known television series like The Sopranos, Rescue Me, and Law and Order, but he is probably best known for his recent role in the HBO series Boardwalk Empire. Vincent plays one of the most notorious gangsters of the Prohibition Era, Lucky Luciano. Ashlee’s new boyfriend has a serious philanthropic streak, as well. He is a member of Project ALS, a charity supporting the search for a cure for Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Vincent can next be seen starring as Jimmy in Surviving Me, a Drama directed by Leah Yananton that is currently in pre-production. He has stated that he is focusing on continuing to create the character of Lucky Luciano for the small screen and has no feature films in the works, though he is continuing to read scripts. No doubt his recent romantic linking to Ashlee Simpson will garner him more attention and put him in demand. Board Walk Empire has completed its first season and HBO has already announced plans for a second season of 11 episodes. Though no premiere date has been set at this time, look for the new season of Boardwalk Empire to begin sometime during the fall of 2011.
